Re-Opening Plan for My Joyful Event

My Joyful Event’s COVID-19 Plan

My Joyful Event is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all of our workers, clients and guests.

Now that things are slowly opening in Nashville and the surrounding areas, here are some of the steps we’re taking to ensure we all stay happy, healthy and safe while having a great time.

My Joyful Event’s COVID-19 Plan follows the industry guidance developed by the state of Tennessee, which is based upon Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We have proudly taken The Tennessee Pledge, which are guidelines for COVID-19 developed by Tennessee Economic Recovery Group for all businesses, organizations, and certain activities in Tennessee. We are also a participating business of Good to Go which is a hospitality safety program created by The Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp in cooperation with Vanderbilt Health, Ryman Hospitality Properties and SERVPRO, to help businesses in every industry implement health and safety guidelines.

These safeguarding protocols do not replace or supersede any applicable state, federal or other statutory or regulatory requirements or standards.

  1. For activities requiring close contact between vendors and clients, staff must wear face coverings. Face coverings are required amongst all participants and regular housekeeping practices are being implemented, including routine disinfecting of work supplies and personal belongings while working a wedding and/or event.

    1. Workers will be asked to provide their own PPE including a face mask, vinyl gloves, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes.

    2. There is increasing evidence that cloth face coverings help slow or prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or anyone unable to remove the mask without assistance.

    3. A face mask will be worn at all times with the exception of during dinner and Vinyl gloves will be worn when handling personal décor that belongs to the client.

  2. We will mitigate exposure in venues by implementing safe social distancing practices

    1. We will modify seating and chair arrangements by blocking off seats or rows within a section to accommodate social distancing of at least 6 feet between individuals from different households or groups.

    2. Social distancing of at least six feet will be implemented and maintained between workers, clients, vendors, guests and other personnel through the following engineering and administrative controls.

    3. All meetings will be virtual until further notice unless client requires face-to-face.

    4. Workers will maintain social distancing of at least six feet at all weddings and/or events between workers, clients, vendors, guests and other personnel; and adhere to local guidelines and restrictions on venue occupancy requirements.

  3. We are ensuring sick workers stay home and prompt identification and isolation of sick persons

    1. Workers have been informed of and encouraged to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. The following policies and procedures are being implemented to assess worker’s health status prior to entering the workplace and for workers to report when they are sick or experiencing symptoms.

    2. Workers will not be permitted to work if they:

      1. Report being sick with COVID-19 symptoms

      2. Have had COVID-19 and fewer than 15 days have elapsed since their last symptoms

      3. Have a temperature at or over 100.3 degrees; and have been around someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 15 days

    3. During a wedding and/or event, workers and vendors must notify the owner of My Joyful Event, if they begin experiencing any symptoms while on the job. In this case, another worker will replace this person and relieve them from their duties immediately.

    4. We will ensure temperature checks and health questionnaires of all vendors, workers and guests before entering an event.

      1. Prior to each wedding and/or event, workers and vendors will be required to sign document (health screening)

    5. Workers are being instructed to cover their mouth and nose with their sleeve or a tissue when coughing or sneezing and to avoid touching their face, in particular their mouth, nose and eyes, with their hands. They should dispose of tissues in provided trash receptacles and wash or sanitize their hands immediately afterward.

    6. Workers are instructed to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water frequently throughout the day, but especially at the beginning and end of their shift, prior to any mealtimes and after using the restroom.

My Joyful Event is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all of our workers and clients. To ensure we have a safe and healthy workplace, My Joyful Event has developed the following COVID-19 Preparedness Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Workers are all responsible for implementing this plan. Our goal is to mitigate the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in our workplaces and communities, and that requires full cooperation among our workers. Only through this cooperative effort can we establish and maintain the safety and health of all persons in our workplaces.

All vendors and workers are equally responsible for supporting, implementing, complying with and providing recommendations to further improve all aspects of this COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. My Joyful Event’s workers have our full support in enforcing the provisions of this plan.

Our workers are our most important assets. My Joyful Event is serious about safety and health and protecting its workers. Worker involvement is essential in developing and implementing a successful COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. We have involved our workers in this process by sending monthly updates via e-mail regarding the latest guidelines from local authorities. We will continue to send out updates to our workers via e-mail keeping them informed as the weeks progress.

We are requiring that workers stay at home when they are sick, when household members are sick, or when required by a health care provider to isolate or quarantine themselves or a member of their household. Workers with underlying medical conditions or who have household members with underlying health conditions will not be required to work at this time if they’re not comfortable. My Joyful Event has also implemented a policy for informing workers if they have been exposed to a person with COVID-19 at a wedding and/or event and requiring them to quarantine for the required amount of time. In this case, the owner of My Joyful Event, will immediately notify workers of the situation.
